Marker Post - Type 3

Socket Mounted, Emergency Crossing Countdown, Verge Marker Post - Type 3

Near side marker post used on UK Motorways to countdown to emergency crossings on UK Motorways and Trunk Roads. These Type 3 posts are installed on the verges of both approaches to the crossing in place of Type 1 marker posts. 

Blue Vinyl for Motorway use.
Green Vinyl for Trunk Road use.

Ground sockets are fixed using a peg as an anchor to provide secure installation. This enables socket mounted posts to be removed when required, for exmple during grass cutting.

Socket Mounting Location - 300mm to 400mm outside hard shoulder / hard strip.

Position and Spacing in Relation to the Emergency Crossing

Posts are fixed at 100 m intervals.

Type 3 (3) 300 m from crossing.
Type 3 (2) 200 m from crossing.
Type 3 (1) 100 m from crossing.
